Doctor DeSoto by William Steig tells the story of Doctor DeSoto, a mouse dentist, who works on the teeth of animals big and small with the help of his wife. However, he does not treat animals that eat mice. One day a fox comes by his office in terrible pain from his tooth. DeSoto is worried but feels he has to treat the poor creature. By working together, DeSoto and his wife find a clever way to outwit the wily fox while still fixing his tooth!
